Action Pack Sign Up Story

Hi Val,

Your course on June 24th was great. Thank you for all of the useful tips and information!

Obtaining an Action Pack from Microsoft was one of your best tips. I do have a few suggestions, which may help anyone who is trying to purchase this action pack. Unfortunately for me, this was an extremely frustrating experience (punctuated with occasional outbursts of bad language).

It was not necessary to enroll in Microsoft’s MPAN to obtain the Action Pack. Microsoft support indicated this to me in one of my many phone calls to them. (It does appear that if you want to join MPAN you must first register under their Partners Program.)

A summary of steps required to obtain the Microsoft Action Pack are detailed at the URL below:

https://partner.microsoft.com/US/40016455

To enroll in the Partner Program you must first obtain a Windows Live ID. Once this ID has been obtained, registration must then be completed for the   Partner Program. After this process is completed you must then take one of the Microsoft courses.

The course process is where a significant amount of my frustration was encountered. After a number of hours of frustration and calls to Microsoft, it appears to me the course I chose to take is not compatible with IE 8 (even in full compatibility mode). I was able to complete the course on a home computer with IE 7.

I hope this helps to save someone else some frustration.
